2500 Series® Programmable Controller - Classic

The 2500 Series® Classic Programmable Controller System is designed for use in a broad range of applications, including those that require discrete and analog control. The system is designed to be a compatible replacement for Texas Instruments and Siemens 505® systems.  Components include the CPU and the support devices that provide operator interface, communication, I/O control, and power. These systems perform the same functions as relays, static control, or card logic control systems. They can detect the change in state of input signals from such devices as pushbuttons, limit switches, and analog sensors. Acting on this information and executing a relay ladder logic (RLL) program stored in memory, the CPU produces output signals to drive motor starters, solenoids, pilot lights, modulating control valves, etc. These signals are used to regulate the operation of various pieces of equipment. A full line of discrete, analog, word, and intelligent I/O modules are available for handling almost any input or output specification. These I/O modules are rugged, plug-in devices capable of functioning within operating specifications in harsh environments.

2500 Series® Programmable Controller - Compact I/O System

The 2500 Series® Compact I/O System is designed for use in a broad range of applications, including those that require discrete and analog control. It is compatible with the 2500 Series® System, but offers a much smaller form factor.  Components include the Base, Power Supply, Remote Base Controller (allows connection to any Profibus Master) and  I/O modules. These systems perform the same functions as relays, static control, or card logic control systems. They can detect the change in state of input signals from such devices as pushbuttons, limit switches, and analog sensors. Acting on this information and executing a relay ladder logic (RLL) program stored in memory, the CPU produces output signals to drive motor starters, solenoids, pilot lights, modulating control valves, etc. These signals are used to regulate the operation of various pieces of equipment. A full line of discrete, analog, word, and intelligent I/O modules are available for handling almost any input or output specification. These I/O modules are rugged, plug-in devices capable of functioning within operating specifications in harsh environments.

2500 Series® - Slice I/O

The 2500 Series® Slice I/O System is designed for use in a broad range of applications, including those that require discrete and analog control. It is compatible the the 2500 Series® System, and offers modularity down to a single module, without the need for an  I/O base and RBC.  Slice I/O 23-xxxx modules operate from 24VDC power, while 26/27-xxxx models operate on 12VDC power (design for solar cell applications).  All Slice I/O modules communicate with a remote 2500 Series® CPU using Ethernet to read/write directly to the PLC memory or I/O image table.  This allows transparent integration into the 2500 Series® system without the requirement for any complicated configuration step.  Ethernet connection to the CPU can be accomplished using the on-board port on 2500-Cxxx Processors, or using a 2572 / 2572-A Ethernet module.  Note that when using 2572 or 2572-A modules, Slice I/O can be connected even to legacy Siemens® and Texas Instruments PLCs.

Several models of Slice I/O are available with different mixes of I/O and with additional communications options including RS232/485 and 900MHz radio.  Slice I/O modules feature Universal Analog Inputs which allow connection of 0-5V, 0-20mA, thermocouple, and RTD sensors.  All Slice I/O modules can also be configured to communicate over Ethernet using Modbus-TCP.

2500 Series® HMI / SCADA Systems

2500 Series® HMI / SCADA Systems are powered by zenon from COPA-DATA and are designed to allow easy development and deployment of HMI & SCADA applications on CTI 2500 Series® Processors and other automation systems.  zenon is an open-design object-oriented industrial automation application.  The zenon Product family is used by many companies around the world for process visualization, Human Machine Interface (HMI) and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA).  Its openness makes fast, efficient interfaces with any hardware or software possible.

For running zenon or other HMI systems in your plant, we offer three lines of Industrial PCs which provide for operation in severe environments and are ideal for use as HMI and SCADA workstations:

  • Touch-Panel PCs in 12" and 15" sizes with Windows®7 Embedded and zenon HMI runtime
  • Touch-Panel PCs in 12" and 15" sizes with Windows®7 Embedded - allow you to install and use your own HMI software
  • Fanless Box PCs with Windows®7 Embedded - allow you attach your own monitor, mouse, & keyboard and install your own HMI software

CTI HMI Touch-Panels are based on the latest Intel® Atom™ processor technology and feature a high-brightness LCD panel for easy readability under industrial conditions, solid-state disk drive, and fanless operation.  These Touch-Panels come ready to use, preloaded with Windows® 7 Embedded and (depending on model) the zenon Run Time Engine and CTI’s 2500 Ethernet Communications Driver.

CTI Fanless Box PCs are based on the AMD R260H CPU and feature:
  • two HDMI ports for attaching up to 2 monitors
  • dual RJ45 Ethernet ports with independent MACs
  • two serial ports
  • six USB ports


Series 500 System Support Products

Our Series 500 System Support Products allow the use of CTI 2500 Series® products in Texas Instruments Series 500 I/O bases. They provide a transparent path for upgrading old Series 500 systems without the requirement to completely replace the system. Failed 500 Series I/O modules can be replaced with CTI 2500 Series® modules. Then, when your budget allows, you can plan a complete replacement of your system to CTI 2500 Series® - without losing your investment in the replaced modules!

Series 500 Support Products are based on both Classic and Compact Designs to fit different needs.  Also included are wiring adapter products to allow you to easily convert old wiring to new formats.
