The functions and features of this product have been directly replaced by the new 2500-RIO-B RS485 Remote Base Controller, which offers backward compatibility with all all CTI 2500-RIO / 2500-RIO-A and Siemens® 505-6851-B / 505-6851-A / 505-6851 applications with no rewiring. Among the improvements included in 2500-RIO-B are: better switching performance in redundancy applications where the active RBC fails, improved status reporting in redundancy applications, improved backplane scan performance in some applications. Maturity of the 2500-RIO-A is effective immediately and new 2500-RIO-B units will be available from stock beginning August 23, 2013.
