The 2573-MOD provides support for communicating with serial and Modbus plant floor devices such as modems, bar code readers, scales, displays, printers, and other PLCs.

Provides 4 serial ports, each providing RS-422, RS-485 and RS-232 electrical interfaces. All ports operate concurrently and independently.
Enables the PLC to act as a master or slave for devices which use Modbus RTU or ASCII protocols
Task Code Master support allows the local PLC to access memory in other 2500 Series™ or Simatic® 505 PLCs
